  1. Dear Brethren,

Kenloy told me that they have recently restored a sister who had stopped going to church many years before his arrival. This is exciting news. Furthermore, the young man who was baptized has been faithful to the Lord. The church there, although small, is growing and maturing.

My hope is to send out the mission books by March 1st. This will allow plenty of time for you to prepare. Many pieces have fallen into place as God is working through His people. Again, I am asking for help regarding a medical doctor. If you know of anyone that might help, please let me know. At this point we have two nurses, one nurses aid, a dentist, and an optometry student. I have one nurse practioner, who would be willing to go, but only if a doctor is secured. I have only a few leads and am pleading for your help. Please pray about this.

Kenloy has started plans to add fans, windows, and other modifications to the building. At this point we plan on building a baptistery during the trip along with some other modifications.

Brother Shelby Moorman has agreed to direct the second week. During that week we hope to continue the campaign. All those who will working during that week should make sure to contact him ASAP.

Those who will be helping in V.B.S. will receive their assignments by March. We are still exploring all of our options regarding the teaching curriculum.

Don’t forget that your $100 deposit is due for January, unless you pre-purchased your ticket. If you are with Fayetteville, please see Gerry Whitacre.

If you have any questions please email or call. Let us pray that God will bless us as we prepare for this Gospel effort.

    Serving,

    Rob

  2. December 2007 Report Brown’s Town, Jamica
    Dear brethren
greeting and best wishes to each and every one, wishing all a happy new year.
    2007 IN RETROSPECT

2007 was indeed a year of tremendous challenges not just for me individually, but for the congregation as a whole. For me personally there were many instances when I had to find ways to deal with several situations that arose in my family, namely my wife’s illness which by the help of many of you she was able to take care of, and my mother’s illness which is still a problem as she is still not able to walk, this is due largely from the fact that we just do not have the money to provide the medical treatment that is needed.
But inspite of these there were many good things, namely, my son being successful in his high scool entrance exam and has been awarded a place in one of the best high school on the Island. My daughter also got a good job, and my wife continues her support of me in the work of the church.

As it relates to the Congregation, there were some discouraging moments, namely times when unruly ones had to be repromanded, and brought back in line with acceptable behaviour. But we had some very encouraging times, as we have seen some new converts, atleast two and a couple of restorations, we would have liked more but I am satisfied that the gospel has been presented, and that is all the Lord asked us to do, and dispite the responce we may have at any given time we still have to continue preaching and teaching.

    PLANS
My plans for the future is to continue with the work of evangalizing the communities around us,and to get as many of our members involved in this process even more than last year, it is my wish that all the members get to the stage to be able to teach.

    CRUSADE

We are excited about the crusade coming this summer, and are in the process of preparation, I am really trying to impress upon the minds of the congregation the significance of this particular crusade, being the firsr one which will be held by this group in this area, therefore we have to do all we can to leave a good impression on those who will be coming to work with us in the efforts.
We are hoping to see many of you whom we have already been aquainted and also alot of new brethren.

    NEEDS

Personally, there are many needs, both as a congregation and in my family but many of these are being assembled, and as soon as this is done we will communicate these to you.
I am presently compiling a list of the needs of the members as was requested by Bro, Rob Whitacre, that he intends to deal with during the campaign, and probably many of you would be contacted to assist in that venture.

    FAMILY

The family is doing well at this time, my wife and I will be celebrating 25 years of marriage on June 25th 2008 and we are looking forward to have a grand celebration to mark this mielstone, pray for us for another 25 years plus.

May god bless you all, and thanks to each and everyone of you who have been and who has contributed to our financial support of these we expressto you our heart felt gratitude.

    Yours Faithfully

  3. Hello all, Rebecca and I are doing well here in Pohnpei. This is my first time using the blog. I hope that all of you are doing well. If you did not receive a copy of our newsletter by e-mail let me know. You can e-mail me at scottshanahan@hotmail.com.

The work is going well. We have several studies going on that are going very well. Rebecca will start a teenage girls class tomorrow. Our teenaged girls face a lot of pressures and problems. Most are abused. Rebecca requests your prayers.

We love you and I will try to make a habit of checking out the mission’s blog.

    Agape,
    Scott

  4. Holy greetings to all the sainis in Christ,
hoping you are all doing well in the lord, and may all your dreams and aspiration for this year be realized. I am pleased to report that though things and times are so difficult on our Island presently, the lord has been good to us, both as a congregation and as individuals, we are affected by the rising prices of food electricity and petrol which has been quite a challenge but physically and spiritually we are in tact.
We are at this time working hard on preparation for our Crusade in the summer because we want all to be ready to get off to the best start possible,so we are trying to prepare as best we can.
As you know you cant guarantee the outcome of many things in life but you can prepare for many, and so we are doing, because the success of most things often depend on prepairation.
Most of my effort over the next few months will go into training and compiling contacts that the brethren can work with as soon as they arrive, as to how much we will be able to pre -compile is not quite certain but we will do our best.
I am also trying to locate dwelling for our local workers to stay during the meeting. There are also many other things to do over the next few months.
The congregation is for the most part ready for this event, but there are still a few that I am trying to wake up to the fact of what is about to happen in July and what needs to be done prior. I am hoping though that by not too long all will wake up.
My family is doing fairly well at this time,My wife is preparing her self to take on her task of managing the meals preparation for our local campaign workers. This is her special area along with monitoring the kids in VBS.
My health situation is up and down recently since the added activities for pre-preparation works but I have thing prety much under controll, every now and then I take a day off and rest and settle myself down and go again. Keep me in your prayers.
Well, this is about all I have for now, except to say that I am looking forward to seeing many of you in the summer as we work toghether in what promises to be a great campaign God bless you all
