  1. Today was a wonderful day at the Fayetteville Church of Christ. After the morning services, four men were ordained by the holy spirit to serve as our elders. These men’s names are:
    Ronnie Beckwith
    Curtis Hurt
    David Lee
    Gerry Whitacre.
Let us all give these men our 110% support as we worship and serve God together. We all have so much work to do.

  2. The slide show of the bar-b-q is great!! It is only surpassed by the wonderful time we had. Thank you so much to Jim and Allene for all the planning and hard work that you put into the dinner and entertainment.

Allene, the decorations were the best and thank you so much for filling in the flower pots around the building. They are beautiful.

Jim and Caleb, thank both of you for weeding the flower beds before the Ladies Day.

Our Fall is off to a tremendous start with the baptisms of Christian and Bobbi. We are so proud of you both.

  3. God is so good! He has blessed us with some rain and two new souls to our congregation. A big welcome to Mike McCullough and congratulations to Hudson Huber. Hudson, we are so proud of your decision to put on Christ in baptism.
    Good job Abby and Russ!

  4. The Trunk-N-Treat was a great success. Thanks so much to all the adults who made this a fun and safe experience for our kids. Even our 4 smallest little girl pumpkins seemed to have a great time – 2 slept thru the whole thing and 2 were wide awake when they left. A big thank-you to Wade for the hayride and if you missed his little red pig, well, be sure to see it next year.

  5. So many exciting things are going on for our congregation. With the new business cards being developed, we can all be handing them out to people in the community that we are inviting to our worship services. Asking people “where do you worship?” is such a smooth way to open conversation. We had one visitor on Nov 4th because they were asked that question and responded by attending. So let’s all be about the Lord work and invite people to worship with us.

  6. What a great weekend we just shared. It got off to a delicious start with our congregational breakfast A big thanks to Roy, Wade, Maylon and everyone else who worked so hard and made it a success. The middle schoolers were fed and loaded on the bus to attend their retreat at the Hubers. Thank you, Russ and Abby, for opening your home for all those bundles of energy. On Sunday morning we installed 8 new deacons. Congratulations to all of you. The afternoon was busy with Bible Bowl, Ladies Meeting and the elders and deacons meeting. There is a lot going on and the participation from all of you is wonderful. Thanks to everyone for being the faithful workers that you are.

Oh, yes….be sure to look at our member board in the hallway. Linda Williams has done a fabulous job and it is a sight to see.

    Love you all.

  7. December is off to a wonderful start. The adult holiday party Saturday night was one of the best we have ever had. Thanks to Susie, Cindy, Linda, Sharon, Jody and everyone who helped decorate, cook and clean up. Jordan, Logan and the 4 Brothers did a great job on entertainment, and we now know 12 people who will not be leading singing but we love them anyway. We received a little bit of rain during the night. Keep on praying for more rain.

We exceeded our goal for Bible Study Sunday morning and our new quarter started. A big welcome to the Dale Findley family.

Monday brought the sweetest surprise of all – David and Jill are the proud grandparents of Peyton Hall Nash who made his debut just a little after 11:00 pm. He is adorable.

    We are blessed.

  8. If the first 13 days of January are any indication of what the year holds, we will all need to wear our running shoes.
As of the 1st, we are blessed with two preachers who are dedicated to evangelism and ministering. We welcome Jeff, Tammy and Ellie along with Richy Huckaby and Bucky & Jane Patterson to the Fayetteville family. Our sweet Wayne & Carolyn celebrated their 50th anniversary and their children hosted a truly golden party for a golden couple. The youth are all working toward Lads to Leaders and one Wednesday night adult class is getting a workout on the Bible Bowl material. I now have a greater appreciation for the work that is put in by our youth. I want to thank the “family” for all the encouragement you have been to me personally and I know that we’ll all be blessed beyond measure in 2008.

  9. We haven’t had a teenage girl live in our house in almost 17 years and I found out when I was with the “girls” last Friday night that things haven’t changed that much except:

    1. Instead of being on a phone connected to the wall, they all have their own cell phones.

    2. They are much better at multi-tasking. They can talk, text and tie all at the same time.

    3. Instead of music tapes, they now have ipods and look like conjoined twins when they share the same ipod.

    4. They still can eat pizza – hot or cold.

    5. Their hearts are still tender and are quick to show their love by giving to others.

Thank you my precious “little” sisters. You are the BEST!

  10. I just had to share this with everyone. You know how us mothers are……

Kamryn is officially walking!! She walked all around the living room last night, unassisted – and she’s only 10 months old!!
